The 2002 Youth Camp was again held at Camp Sladdin, a
site belonging to Scouting Counties Manukau and located close to
Clevedon village.
A number of activities were enjoyed, including
climbing, kayaking, a water confidence course, an Easter-egg hunt in native
bush, and a flying fox and giant rope swing. A barn dance provided
energetic indoor exercise while the Camp Concert was another highlight.
The morning meetings were taken by Stephen Turner,
Fred Schaumkel and Dafydd Hughes, all elders in Reformed Baptist
churches in New Zealand. The talks covered a number of themes including
friendship, guidance, devotions and temptation. Further discussion was stimulated by viewing a selection of videos on
various themes.
