The 2001 Youth Camp was held at Camp Sladdin, a
site belonging to Scouting Counties Manukau and located close to
Clevedon village. The extensive grounds merge with native bush,
while indoor facilities include dining and recreation halls and bunk
rooms.
A number of activities were enjoyed, including
climbing, kayaking, a water confidence course, a treasure hunt in native
bush, and a flying fox and giant rope swing. A barn dance provided
energetic indoor entertainment while the Camp Concert was, ummm... interesting!
The morning meetings were taken by Stephen Turner,
Fred Schaumkel and Dafydd Hughes, all elders in Reformed Baptist
churches in New Zealand. The talks were based on the book of James.
Further discussion was stimulated by viewing a selection of videos on
various themes.

fun we had!
